My Role

Graphic Design, Prepress

Project Overview

Clarke was implementing a rewards program for designers working on kitchen remodels. If they suggested products from Clarke’s family of brands and they were ultimately installed with the project, the designer just needed to submit the form on the back of the brochure along with an invoice, and they would be given points for each product. The points equated to money on a debit card which they could then spend wherever they pleased. I was to create a brochure promoting this program.

Process

I wanted the design of this brochure to look elegant yet modern, so I used a neutral color palette with a pop of Clarke’s red. I also chose high-quality photographs of beautiful kitchens to add visual interest. Once the design went through the review and feedback process and was approved, I worked with a local printer to select which cardstock on which it would be printed, and then passed the files off to them to print.

Key Learnings

Looking back on this design, I’ve realized that the text is not as legible as it should be. If I were to re-create this now, I would edit the design so the color contrast meets accessibility guidelines. I’d also make sure the background isn’t too busy and distracting from the copy, and would change the layout if needed.
